Review No.2 : Sword Art Online

SAO, the 2012 most popular anime. Reki Kawahara san's best light novel revolves around people trapped in video games. lol.  The story is about SAO, a Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG), was released for the console Nerve Gear that stimulates the user's five senses via their brain and let players experience and control their in-game characters with their minds. Everyone is so darn excited about this game and wanted to try it out this super popular game. While they were playing the game, they realised that they are unable to log out from the game.

So the players were trapped inside the game by the game's creator and the only way to get out of the game is to defeat the final boss of the game. So the player are in a situation similar to a comma on their actual body and if they die in the game or the nerve gear is forcefully removed, the player would die. The story goes on with kirito the main character trying to beat all the stages. He later befriended asuna and they even got married in game! The timelapses after 2 year where kirito has defeated the supposed final boss who turns out to be the best guild's guild master and also the creator of the game.

After kirito clearing the game, all the the survivors returned back to their bodies except for asuna and 300 other players. Kirito later found out that asuna was imprisoned
in another VRMMORPG called ALO. So he venture out to save asuna from the game and also to stop the scheme of Nobuyuki Sugo, the person responsible of asuna being trapped inside ALO and doing experiments on the ALO players bodies.

After some struggles in the game, kirito has eventually defeated sugo with the help of the former creator of SAO and saved the imprisoned players from the game.

SAO may be the most popular anime of 2012 but to me, it wasn't the best. However it is still a good anime and you definitely should have already watched ( If not go watch now! ). At first i thought that the whole SAO thing would revolve around just SAO and didn't expect any ALO or gun gale to come ( sorry, didn't read the light novel ). I was actually disappointed that they didn't really showed much action in SAO, like i was expecting more detail like how they clear each stage and how the system works. It was all not very clear and really had my interest. Also, I TOTALLY DID NOT EXPECT THEM TO GET MARRIED. Like wtf?!?! A little romance is enough in such an anime, getting married is abit too far..... ( although it is just in-game ). Frankly speaking, SAO is not my favourite type of anime but the society likes it so.... oh well, just like gangnam style :/

There have been many debates about will there be a second season for SAO, well, the producers would definitely like to produce the second season but according to them but they have other projects to work so i think there might not be a second season got SAO in the near future. Just wondering since the SAO game has already died down after ALO , so if there is a second season, will they still call it SAO season 2? But most likely season 2 would be about Gun Gale, so which do you think is a more suitable name for the upcoming season? SAO2 or maybe something like GGO (gun gale online)?

According to some of the images i see, asuna doesn't seems to be in gun gale and there seems to be a new female lead ( left ) x.x  and kirito looks really girly ( right ).... But it still looks awesome. I would really be looking forward to having another season of SAO!

I rate SAO 8.5/10. It may be a 9 or 10 for most people but it is not really my cup of tea.
